 Abstract:
In this report I will discuss about sport and leisure before how it was and now by interviewing
My teacher Mr. Hedeley, where  he has a lot of highlights in sport activities.

Introduction

The purpose of this report is to compare and contrast the change and continuity of sports and other leisure activities in UAE. To perform this analysis, a one to one interview was taken with  an aged teacher who taught in a number of countries and  he started his first career  in Brunei , before he came to UAE in 2003 he taught for several years in the Arabic gulf.
Biographical
His name Mr.Hedley  is from England he is teaching English since 1971 started in London and after that he left his home to teach in Brunei for some years then china after that he has been teaching for a while in Arabic gulf. Presently he has passed thirteen years of his teaching career in Abu-Dhabi men college. He explained his career as a teacher, player and instructor in sports which explains that change and continuity of sports and other leisure activities in UAE. The thirteen year teaching career of the interview in Abu-Dhabi and other parts of the world explain the changes that happened in terms of sports and leisure activities. The scope of this report is to explain of changes in last thirteen years in sports and leisure activities in UAE.

The change and continuity of sports and other leisure activities in UAE

The profile of the interviewee shows that apart from teaching English and history he is an active person in sports. He likes to play soccer and rugby and also worked as instructor of these sports in England. He also played squash in Brunei. When he came back in UAE in 1992, he joined a club and started playing as well as coaching squash. He viewed and analysis the changes happening in UAE for thirteen years and he can clearly mention the trend of playing sports and other leisure activities in junior schools as well as professional sports in the emirates.
He revealed that in the past years players were not paid for playing game rather the players used to pay the club in return of giving services to them. But presently, the condition is totally different and now the players play and they are paid for this. Playing is a job and profession for players. In Dubai, now teams from different parts of the word including America, UK, England and other countries gather to play rugby.
It is also important to note that the payment of players differ from game to game. For example, players of Rugby are paid less as compared to other games like golf etc. He revealed that can make half a money while playing rugby as compared to the players playing professional soccer or any other popular game. This shows that playing different games is now becoming a profession and passion for people in UAE and they play after getting proper training and coaching classes. But, the type of game is also important. People now prefer to play easy games which so not hard work.
The trend of teaching and playing different games including rugby is increasing in UAE now a days. Most of the junior schools are also arranging coaching classes for the junior students. But, a game like rugby cannot be a major game for students and even players in UAE as rugby is less common than soccer in most of the countries of world. Also even most of the people in UAE also like soccer more as compared to rugby. There were seven leagues of soccer in 1994 but with the passage of time the leagues are decreasing in number which shows that now most of the people in UAE have left playing soccer and even other games. Also, most of the soccer grounds are now being turned into gymnasiums. May be the reason for this is that weather in UAE is particularly hot as compared to England so people prefer to remain fit with the help of weight lifting inside sheltered gymnasiums.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it can be said that in UAE the trend of playing has decreased. Even a handful of health conscious who want to take care of their health, go to gyms instead of playing outdoors games which are less good for health as compared to the games which are played outdoors. As compared to the past thirteen years, the educational institutions are giving attention to sports but most of these sports are indoor so, students as well professional players in UAE prefer playing indoor.
